There are a number of reasons but as well as the all-year-round-warmth created by the Gulf Stream, the main one is that you can cruise from the UK without having to fly, reaching the Canaries in a couple of days.

    On a Canaries cruise, at least one from Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and La Gomera are usually joined by Madeira, where Funchal, its capital, is the main cruise port.

    Iberia is made up of Spain and Portugal and cruises to Iberia from UK ports call at ports along the Atlantic coast with French ports such as La Rochelle often included in the itinerary.
