MS Andrea The MS Andrea is a classic ex working coastal ship that has been modernised and offers comfortable cruising with old world charm. Passengers on the Andrea tend to be mixed ages and International. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped but come in a range of sizes. Suites have a bathtub. There are few facilities onboard apart from the lounge and library but there is a fitness facility. Zodiacs are carried for exploring ashore.. The Cormorant Restaurant is open seating in one single sitting. The Northern Lights Caf also offers al fresco dining when conditions permit. MS Clipper Odyssey The MS Clipper Odyssey is a small impressive ship with stabilisers which has been luxuriously outfitted and features a mix of east/west decor and a warm ambience. There are three main public rooms, the Dining Room, Main Lounge and Day Lounge. Cabins all have outside views (with window or porthole). They are a good size and are very well equipped with sitting area TV, VCR, safe, minibar, fridge and en-suite facilities. Some cabins have balconies. Bathrooms feature a half size bathtub.The Clipper Odyssey The has a decompression chamber for divers, an aft platform and carries an extensive range of water sports equipment for scuba, snorkelling, and a fleet of Zodiacs. Also a wide teak jogging track, ample space for sunbathing and a small pool. The pleasant dining room has ocean views. Food is freshly prepared and attractively presented and served with friendly enthusiasm. Breakfast and luncheon buffets are also served in the Day Lounge. There is plenty of open deck space for wildlife spotting. The entertainment is limited to the public rooms and is designed for passengers who would rather have quiet contemplation rather than the razzle/dazzle of the larger cruise lines.Dress code on the Clipper Odyssey is Casual and comfortable during the day. MV Explorer The Explorer is a small manoeuvrable ship which has an ice-hardened hull and is well equipped for expedition cruising. The limited public rooms are nicely decorated and the ambience is intimate. Passengers on the Explorer tend to be mixed ages and International. Cabins are very small and basic with little storage space. Bathrooms are also extremely compact. There is reasonable space on the sun and obeservation decks and a small pool. The Fitness Centre is quite small but it does have a sauna. There are also 10 Zodiac inflatables for landings and inshore exploration. The Explorers cheerful dining room offers a limited menu but good well presented fare. Service is friendly and attentive. No organised entertainment, just talks from knowledgeable guest speakers and expedition staff in the theatre-style Lecture Room seating 113 persons,. An extensive library of wildlife and nature books is provided on board.Dress code on the Explorer is casual and comfortable during the day. MV Island Sky This handsome yacht style ship features lots of polished wood and provides a comfortable cruise experience in elegant surroundings. Passengers on the Island Sky tend to be all ages and international. Cabins are spacious, all with ocean view, well equipped and finished in rosewood panelling. Bathrooms are small with a marble vanity unit but no bathtub. There is one pool, a teak promenade deck and a reasonable amount of open deck space. The aft platform is used for watersports and the ship can provide a variety of equipment including Zodiacs. The Spa offers treatments and a small gym. The small but elegant Dining Room on the Island Sky is open seating and offers an international menu. Entertainment is limited and provided in the single level Main Lounge where there is a small stage and dance floor. There is also a small library and Club Lounge.Dress code on the Island Sky is casual and comfortable during the day. MV Explorer II The MV Explorer II specialises in lecture rich cruises to interesting destinations for those wishing to cruise and learn. There is a good selection of public rooms with restrained contemporary dcor. Passengers on the Explorer II tend to be mixed ages and American & European. Cabins are well quipped and have a good amount of storage space but standard cabins are small. Bathrooms are compact. Suites and deluxe cabins have a bathtub and refrigerator. Superior cabins also have a bathtub while standard cabins have a shower only. There are limited facilities on this ship, however it has a Spa and offers plenty of open and shaded deck space and teak wrap around promenade deck. Zodiac inflatables are used for exploratory inshore excursions and protective clothing is provided. The dining room on the Explorer II is single and open seating providing good simple food well presented. Service is good. Alternative dining is available in the indoor/outdoor Bridge Cafe. The ship has a fine library and a small cinema and quality lectures are delivered on the cruise itinerary in the Main Lounge. There are no shows but occasional concerts are given. There is a small band and pianists for dancing and background music.Because of the nature of the cruises on offer,the dress code on the Explorer II requires that mainly casual warm clothing will be needed. The rating for children is Acceptable. There are no facilities for children.
MS Le Diamant This well maintained but slightly worn ship offers a high quality and comfortable cruise experience in understated yet elegant surroundings. Passengers on the Le Diamant tend to be sophisticated and usually French speaking. The cabins are all outside, reasonably spacious and well equipped with VCR,TV and fridge. Storage space is excellent and some cabins have balconies. Many have a small bathtub with bathrobes provided. The sports and leisure facilities onboard MS Le Diamant are limited but include a small fitness centre, Jacuzzi, sauna, pool and snorkelling equipment for exploring coves and viewing sea life. The charming Galaxy dining room is open seating. Food quality and presentation is excellent as is the service. Angelo's offers alternative Italian dining of a fine standard. There is also an outdoor caf and grill and 24 hour room service. There is plenty of sheltered open deck space for sunbathing. Entertainment is provided in a tiered show lounge (with good unobstructed sight lines) and separate nightclub.Dress code on MS Le Diamant is casual and comfortable during the day. In the evening dress is semi formal (jacket and tie for gentlemen and casual elegance for ladies). Formal evenings require a suit or dinner jacket for men and a cocktail dress for ladies. MV Le Levant This beautifully streamlined ship is low profile and has an ice-hardened hull for exploration cruising. Interiors are elegant but uncluttered. Passengers on the Le Levant tend to be sophisticated and usually French speaking. The standard cabins are quite large at around 200 square feet, nicely furnished with windows, TV, VCR, safe and fridges. The bathrooms are teak and marble but only have a shower. There is an oval pool and plenty of deck space as well as a marina platform for swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving. The ship carries two landing craft and Zodiacs for coastal trips, river cruising and wildlife watching. Both the wood-panelled main Dining Room and the informal Verandah Restaurant on MV Le Levant are open seating. The service is attentive and the French cuisine is excellent and includes wine at both lunch and dinner. The entertainment is low key and provided in the Grand Salon that becomes a lecture room by day. It is here you can listen to informative lectures about the ports of call, cities to visit and local wildlife. There is also a small library.Dress code on MV Le Levant is casual and comfortable during the day. In the evening dress is semi formal (jacket and tie for gentlemen and casual elegance for ladies). Formal evenings require a suit or dinner jacket for men and a cocktail dress for ladies. The rating for children of MV Le Levant is unsuitable. MV Monet This very small Croatian run ship is more like a private yacht but you would not call it luxurious. It provides a comfortable and intimate cruising experience and is ideal for coastal exploration. Passengers on the Monet tend to be mixed ages and International. Cabins are attractive and an adequate size with outside views, television and telephone. The private bathroom is very small with shower and toilet.On MV Monet there are two teak sun decks fore and aft each with its own Jacuzzi. Fitness equipment is also provided onboard and there is one Zodiac for inshore exploration. The single sitting Nymphea Restaurant has panoramic views. It serves buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner with waiter service. Food is reasonable but the choice is limited. The aft sundeck is covered with a canopy and serves as a social area where entertainment is provided by the crew and visiting entertainers and dance troupes. There is a pianist in the Giverny Lounge each evening and local lecturers also give talks.Dress code on MV Monet is casual and comfortable during the day. MV Polar Star This was the first icebreaker to be converted to expedition cruising and is specially equipped for cruising in polar waters. Polar Star is large enough to voyage to remote areas in comfort and small enough to enter out of the way destinations. The cabins are comfortable but compact, most with lower berths and some triples having upper and lower berths. All cabins have a small bathroom with shower except for the 4 triple cabins where facilities are shared between two. The facilities onboard Polar Star include a fleet of Zodiacs (inflatables) for shore excursions, coastal trips and wildlife watching. A fitness facility is provided. The single sitting dining room offers a varied international menu prepared fresh onboard. Relaxation and sightseeing are the entertainments onboard Polar Star but there are occasional bands during the summer. In addition the ship offers informal lectures a panorama lounge, lecture room, library and bar.Dress code on Polar Star is casual and comfortable during the day. You may wish to include some slightly more dressy clothes for the Captain's parties. Proper outdoor clothing must be taken, including wind and waterproof outer layers and watertight boots.
SY Sea Cloud One of the largest sailing ships in the world, this four-masted, 30-sail barkentine was built in the 1930s and has sumptuous fittings with interiors panelled in carved oak, fitted with Italian marble and elegantly furnished with antiques.Cabins range from large suites to small two berths but all are beautifully furnished and quite well equipped. Bathrooms are also luxurious and well fitted.On the Sea Cloud there is a teak and mahogany promenade deck and although there is no pool, sunbathing on the padded blue lagoon at the stern of the boat is delightful. The elegant wood panelled dining room is home to buffet breakfast and lunch and a full service dinner. Both food and service are excellent although the choice may be limited. Lunch is sometimes served on the promenade deck. Live music in the form of a piano player is usually provided in the Lounge and there may be a crew show at the end of the voyage. A good book, conversation and the cruise experience will be your main entertainment.Dress code on the Sea Cloud is casual and comfortable during the day. SY Sea Cloud II This stunning barkentine, built along traditional lines with the ambience of a 1930s sailing vessel, has looks and deluxe accommodation like her namesake. The interior designs of Sea Cloud II are traditional and elegant. All the beautifully appointed suites and cabins are spacious and have outside views and are well equipped. The bathrooms, in light marble feature baths in the Suites. There is a promenade deck and although there is no pool, sunbathing on the padded blue lagoon at the stern of the boat is delightful.On board Sea Cloud II there is a small watersports platform, four zodiacs and snorkelling equipment.
