A Royal Clipper cruise is enjoyed by adults, both singles and couples, with both a sense of adventure and a liking for elegant surroundings and friendly atmosphere. Passengers tend to be a mix of Europeans and Americans.
Cabins
There are eight grades of cabin starting from an inside double on deck 6, the lowest accommodation deck up to the owners suite on Clipper deck. The lowest grades are quite small but well equipped and all rooms have their own bathroom and can be made up to a double.
Entertainment
Entertainment is fairly low key and is in keeping with the whole cruise experience as no-one taking a Royal Clipper cruise would expect or indeed want to see a cabaret show. There is a resident pianist tinkling the ivories in the lounge but for many just talking with other guests about the days experiences is enough.
Highlights
To sit on deck and hear the wind blowing through one of its 42 sails is just a great experience.
Dining
Dining takes place in the Clipper Dining Room. Breakfast is served buffet style where one can choose between continental and full cooked. Lunch is also buffet style where an array of seafood and salads are served. Dinner is waiter service when you will experience cuisine from all over the world.
Tipping
The suggested amount is about 8 euros per passenger per day. A 12.5% service charge is automatically added to all bar bills.
Dress Code
Comfortable in the day and smart casual/elegance in the evenings. There are no formal evenings as such.
Recreation
For the adventurous ones briefings are given each day on how the sails are furled and unfurled and some do get involved. You may wish to climb up to the Crows Nest! For those who are less adventurous there is an observation lounge and card room.
Fitness
There is deck space aplenty and a variety of free water sports are on offer throughout the day including banana boats, zodiacs, dinghies and snorkelling. There is also a small gymnasium with health spa.
